a community gathering
BODY AS HOME
An 8-week support gathering for people in larger bodies navigating recovery, body trust, and the complexity of today's anti-fat culture.
A gentle place to connect to yourself, your body, and to a community that shares your values.
Anti-Fat Bias Got Louder —
✱ You've spent years rebuilding trust.
✱ Learning embodiment.
✱ Healing your relationship with food.
✱ Finding fat community
✱ Recognizing diet culture
Now We Have an Onslaught of —
✱ GLP-1 weight loss advertisements.
✱ Body bashing conversations.
✱ Family and friends shrinking.
✱ Healthcare pressure to take weight loss meds.
✱ Social media pressure.
✱ Celebrities.
✱ The constant message that smaller is somehow better.
It makes sense if you’re tired. It makes sense if recovery suddenly feels harder. It makes sense if you’re longing for people to understand.
This Work Is Best Done in Community
The work of unlearning harm and supporting healing is confronting, difficult, and ongoing. And it is best done in community.

The energy of the gathering
Gentle Guidance. Not Directiveness.
This isn’t a class where someone tells you the right way to heal.
It isn’t group therapy.
It isn’t nutrition counseling.
It isn’t about convincing anyone what decisions they should make.
Instead…
This gathering offers gentle structure, questions, reflection, embodiment practices, education when helpful, and space for the wisdom already living inside you.
This Work Is Best Done in Community
The work of unlearning harm and supporting healing is confronting, difficult, and ongoing. And it is best done in community.
The Hope Isn’t That The World Changes Overnight.
The hope is that your capacity to stay embodied grows stronger.
about virginia
Hi, I’m Virginia, The Radical Dietitian.
I created Body as Home because I believe healing happens differently when we don't have to carry it alone.
I've watched so many people work hard to build trust with themselves and their bodies, only to find that trust challenged again by the messages our culture continues to send about whose bodies are worthy. I wanted to create a space where those experiences could be named without shame—and where people could reconnect with themselves in the company of others walking a similar path.
As a registered dietitian, my work is rooted in relational care, fat liberation, trauma-informed practice, body trust, and honoring each person's agency and autonomy. I don't believe there's one right way to heal. I believe in creating spaces where curiosity, compassion, and connection make healing feel more possible.
Body as Home is shaped by nearly a decade of supporting people through eating disorder recovery, my own lived experience, and my training with the Center for Body Trust and The Embodiment Institute.

It simply deserves to come home.

I offer nutrition therapy as a registered dietitian nutritionist in my virtual practice. This is a space to explore your relationship with food, body, and care in a way that is collaborative, trauma-informed, and grounded in your lived experience.
And yes! We may occasionally be joined by my cats, Bug (a natural-born healer) and Filius (a reminder that play is part of being alive).

The Deep Nourishment Nest is an online community space for those wanting ongoing, accessible support with food and nourishment.
Inside, you’ll find embodiment prompts, a cooking club, and reflections from the Enough Butter blog—all designed to support a more connected, flexible, and contained relationship with food.
A place to gently re-wild your relationship to food and feeding yourself.
